This small seven acre site is part of the Holme Dunes complex and managed by the Norfolk Ornithologists Association.
It is home to Norfolk's only accredited Bird Observatory. Recording takes place daily with ringing ongoing throughout the year. The site really comes into its own during spring and autumn, when, if conditions are favourable the site which consists of dunes, scrub and pines can be dripping with birds!
DIRECTIONS
From King's Lynn head east on the A149 Hunstanton road. Remain on this road beyond Hunstanton until you reach the village sign for Holme-next-Sea. Turn left signed NOA Watchpoint and Holme NWT. Drive through the village until you see a toilet block on your left and the golf course ahead. Take the track to your right. A steady drive will save the suspension and allow you to start birdwatching. I have seen up to 50 Waxwing in the gardens near the toilet block before! As you approach the reserve you may be stopped at the NWT hut. There are two entirely separate reserves at the end of the track, Each requiring there own fees! The NOA Observatory car park is on the right at the end of the track.
