BURHINUS

Welcome to the Burhinus web site.

Before you go diving into this site too deeply, please be advised that it is not dedicated to the family Burhinidae. Having said that you will find references to Eurasian Thick-Knee or Stone Curlew.

Why Burhinus? It is my favourite bird of the Norfolk and Suffolk Brecks. A truely enigmatic creature with an evocative call.

This site is mainly about the natural history of West Norfolk and the Brecks of East Anglia. If your interests are Birds, Birdwatching, Mammals, Trees, Flowers, Insects or indeed anything relating to the Natural History of this area then this site is for you!
